For the second year in a row, Phoenix Sister Cities turned to M Catering to cater the Mayor’s International Gala in downtown Phoenix. This year they celebrated Grenoble, France, a city at the foot of the Alps in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Invited honored guests from Grenoble joined City of Phoenix officials, civic and business leaders, and Sister Cities supporters at The Van Buren, one of the Valley’s hottest new venues.
M Catering offered a butler-passed and stations menu showcasing the unique fusion of the Sonoran Desert and southeastern France. A variety of small plates items were prepared with ingredients from local dairies, farms, sausage makers, and beer brewers. Chef Michael’s small plate of local Hickman Farms slow-poached egg with charred tomato & bacon, parsley pistou and crispy potato crumble was a big hit with guests from both sides of the pond. A favorite “finisher”, our locally farmed orange creme brulee with fresh blackberries and the other 3 desserts proved to be the best way to end the evening.
