General FAQs
How do I call out for a shift?

You will be unable to remove yourself from a scheduled shift in Nowsta. If you are sick or experience an emergency and cannot work your shift, please notify Staffing as soon as possible using the contact number for your assigned area:

  • Skybox 16 (FOH & BOH): 480-490-2971

  • All other areas (FOH & BOH): 602-525-0931

Mornings can be chilly, so dress warm. As temperatures rise, layers are your best friend. Don’t forget sunscreen! When you arrive, your area manager or captain will assign your responsibilities and provide any training needed.

The day may start slow but will get busier—we serve up to 40,000 people daily on the course. Let your area captain or manager know when you need a break. All employees are entitled to a 30-minute break to eat in the employee area. Please refrain from eating at event stations.

To check out & return to the employee parking lot, use the shuttle at the event entrance. Be patient, as delays may occur. If the pickup spot changes due to traffic, a manager will inform you.

When you arrive to your area to work, first check in with the Area Captain or Manager. They will provide you with more information on what you will be doing to assist with the service of the event. In addition, they can assist you with any questions and train you how to do any task needed.

Your credential, parking pass, clear bag, and proper uniform.

Stay on course and notify your captain. They will assist and guide you through next steps.

Recycling Right

For 11 consecutive years, the WM Phoenix Open has been recognized as the largest zero waste sporting event in the world! In partnership with the Thunderbirds, tournament vendors and the PGA TOUR, WM leads operational efforts to divert 100% of waste from the landfill through recycling, composting, donation and energy conversion.

The cornerstone of WM’s operational achievements begins and ends with Recycling Right, WM’s very own Recycling Education platform. To learn more about Recycling Right and how WM operates the largest zero waste event in the world, please visit:  https://www.wm.com/us/en/inside-wm/phoenix-open
